I have always been mesmerized by human faces and how emotion shows up in them. My Faces are not portraits, but rather expressions of a state of being captured.

I started with line drawings and pencil-shading but later invented my own unique line based drawing style.

For the longest time after that I strictly created my artwork in black and white, utilizing a black pen on white paper.

This approach did not have room for mistakes, since corrections in black ink where not possible. Later I advanced this style to closed areas in a face and started experimenting with digital coloring of the handcrafted image.

This is the current style: Hand drawn with black ink on white paper and then colored with Photoshop and Illustrator.

Everything is still human created by myself without the use of AI.
